Where You Take Root 🪴 — A Reflection on the Magic of Our First Women's Retreat
This past weekend was nothing short of sacred...
It was powerful, soft, emotional, nourishing, expansive—all the things that are hard to capture in words but live in the body long after the moment passes.
The Feminine Ethos had the honor of co-hosting our first women’s retreat with Mamacitas, and even as we write this, we’re still processing how beautifully it all unfolded. There are some experiences that leave such a deep imprint, it’s hard to explain them without feeling like you're watering them down. This was one of those weekends.
The seed was planted 6 months ago.
The idea began as a whisper between us and the Mamacitas team. We had no idea what it would become, just that we wanted to create a space where women could root themselves—back into their bodies, their truth, their joy, their pain, their power.
After months of planning, shifting dates, and finding the perfect home for our vision… it all came together in the most divine way. We landed in a stunning ranch-style manor tucked in the rolling wine country just south of Tucson. It looked like something out of a Yellowstone dream but even more special because of the women who gathered there.
It was as if the universe handpicked every single soul to be there. Each woman brought something so needed—whether it was her warmth, her fire, her story, or her silence. It all belonged.
We didn’t just gather.
We rooted.
We poured into each other over warm meals catered by Mad Fresh, we moved our bodies and softened our edges with guidance from Karen, and we journaled truths we didn’t even know we were ready to write. We painted and planted literal seeds of intention in clay pots we decorated while reflecting on our inner child. We danced and sang karaoke until our cheeks hurt from laughing.
And yes, our booties were sore from that barre class (thank you, strength), but our hearts were full. So, so full.

One of my favorite moments was ending the weekend with a picnic by the water. It was simple—sunshine, laughter, charcuterie, coloring, and conversation—but something about it felt so holy. Like the joy you feel when you remember what it means to just be.
This retreat reminded me that women are walking gardens. We are blooming and becoming, each of us needing a different mix of soil, sunlight, and care. When we come together with intention, we don’t just recharge—we remember.
We remember who we are.
We remember how to feel.
We remember that we don’t have to carry everything alone.
There is so much I could say about the impact this had, but the truth is—some things can’t be said. They can only be felt.
To witness women carve out time from their busy lives, leave behind their to-do lists, and choose themselves for a weekend was the most beautiful thing.
To witness women hold space for one another, share their stories, cry freely, laugh loudly, and offer love so generously—it was healing in its purest form.
It’s a privilege to be part of something like this.
And it’s just the beginning.
We’ll continue to co-create these sacred containers.
Because it really does take a village.
And we all deserve to be held by one.
